Meet the student startup that won $100,000 in ASU/Avnet competition

Hoolest Performance Technologies was the grand winner in Friday's Arizona State University Innovation Open, winning $100,000 from main sponsor Avnet. The Tempe-based student startup targets the 230 million people suffering from performance anxiety, including 6 million who are competitive athletes.

Hoolest Performance Technologies, made up of three ASU engineering students, won the grand prize at the entrepreneurial competition, beating out four other student-led ventures. The $100,000 investment will go toward creating more of the earbud devices, which block stress by stimulating the vagus nerve.
